good evening, my rancher friends...am needing your assistance!! i am looking for good, wholesome songs about dads....since losing my "dad" 3 1/2 years ago, i have since reconnected with my father and am FINALLY getting to know the man and how amazing he really is...sad that i lost 42 years with him, but God has blessed us with a second chance!! anyway, i am trying to compile a list of songs for daddy's for father's day (sooo terribly sorry about the short notice), so i would like to hear from each of you what your most memorable "daddy" song is...so far, i have Brad Paisley "He didn't have to be", Holly Dunn's "Daddy's Hands" and Conway Twitty's "That's my job" ( a true tear-jerker to say the least).......

Check out these links. :D

I'm glad you brought this up, Kris. That Holly Dunn video of
"Daddy's Hands" is very special. I really liked the western theme
in the video.

Honestly, as I watched this video, I recognized a friend from
Deer Lodge in the video. He's the father hugging the girl with
the cowboy hat and grinning down at her!! I called to ask them if
they knew he was in that video. Wow, how special was that???

I thought of this one:
George Strait: "A Fathers Love"

I also thought of the oldie, "My dad gave my dog away"
and then I remembered my dad singing that to me when i was
very young, only he made me so mad at him when he sang it
like this: "My dog gave my dad away." :p
He was a real joker. Thanks for a fond memory of my father. :D

I am so glad you are now able sharing your life with yours!
And of course, I know the 'daddy' that raised you, you think the world of!

FH----WHEN I THINK OF MY 'PAPPY', I CANNOT HELP BUT THINK OF BRAD PAISLEY'S SONG "HE DIDN'T HAVE TO BE"...BECAUSE HE REALLY DIDN'T ...HE LOVED MY UNCONDITIONALLY AND WITHOUT THE BENEFIT OF DNA!! STILL MISS HIM........

It's time that I pay tribute, to the man I call my dad.
Lately I've been remembering, the good times and the bad.
When you came into my life, little did I know,
The effect that you would have on me, and how my love would grow.
I won't ever forget things we've shared, things that we've been through,
Will never forget your laugh and the funny things you do.
All the time spent camping and trying to catch some fish,
And making chocolate malts, those are times I miss.
I will always remember, mom would try to hide,
When you would act goofy and wave, to strangers passing by.
Walking me down the aisle, on my special day
Was the man nearest and dearest to me, in a very special way.
Holding all my babies on the day of their birth,
These are things I'll cherish, from your time on earth.
Your unfailing love for mom, I will never ever forget,
I'm so glad you were there with me, on the day her fate was met.
You are such a part of me, from the bottom of my heart,
When it comes to being a dad, you have done your part.
Thank you for everything, the memories that we've had.
You are not just my hero, I proudly call you my dad.

SW WROTE THIS ONE IN HONOR OF MY "DADDY" SHORTLY AFTER HIS DEATH IN 2008....THANKS, SW....STILL MAKES ME SMILE!!
