Damndable Weather

My poor old buddy Arther Itis can't keep up to this weather!!!!

This morning it was 6 Below down here in the river bottom-- all around us was in the 20's-30's above...Finally just before noon the warm air mixed down into this valley- and its up to +36 degrees now at 2PM...They're forecasting in the 40's tomorrow....

Then Monday morning another arctic front is supposed to blow in- with snow- and 30-40 mph winds and blowing snow- and then the bottom is supposed to drop out of the thermometer.... Weather Boys are saying low temps in the 30 below range (which means 40 below down in this valley) Tues- Thurs-- with some saying record breaking lows- another saying the coldest temps in years.... :shock:

Thankfully so far they think this will be fast moving- and will move east and south by Friday enough to allow some high temps back up into the teens...

We just received a severe weather warning for tonight.
70-100 km winds, 10 cm of snow and a high of - 27 for the week.
How the heck are the girls going to calve in that weather.It is scaring the bejeezus out of me.

Well- I'll take credit for the moisture coming in and causing the snow--but it looks like this cold is coming right thru yours and Shelly's back door- and I'm right in the center of the arrow head pointing where its going...

Well the bottom fell out of the thermometer here last night. Yesterday morning it was just barely freezing, in the afternoon the wind came up and it dropped to -34 by this morning. Thank God the wind quit..... I was starting to think it was Nebraska!

I just can't believe how beautiful today is...Since we just got the cows trailed home a couple weeks ago we still hadn't got them poured--and the last few days the lice were really popping out...

Been waiting for my son to get back on a nice day to help--but with the bad weather coming I thought I'd better get er done while I could...I fed in the lower lot to get them gathered--Got #3 daughter on her old saddle horse to corral them and keep the chute full- Grandma on one gate- me pouring and on the other gate- and it went plumb slick...

We just finished- temp is 48 Above- and the corral has something I haven't seen in some time MUD- a lot of snow left today with the 15 mph breeze blowing and lots of bare spots sticking thru.....But if this 30 Below comes in, it will make one thing---- ICE everywhere...

Started snowing at about 10:30 this morning, we're at at least 8 inches already, and supposed to keep on until tommorrow at noon, the one saving grace is we don't get a lot of wind or it would be really messy, temp. is 22 above at the moment. I would say kids will have a snow day tomorrow, we started calving a few days ago, but so far so good.
