My poor old buddy Arther Itis can't keep up to this weather!!!!

This morning it was 6 Below down here in the river bottom-- all around us was in the 20's-30's above...Finally just before noon the warm air mixed down into this valley- and its up to +36 degrees now at 2PM...They're forecasting in the 40's tomorrow....

Then Monday morning another arctic front is supposed to blow in- with snow- and 30-40 mph winds and blowing snow- and then the bottom is supposed to drop out of the thermometer.... :( Weather Boys are saying low temps in the 30 below range (which means 40 below down in this valley) Tues- Thurs-- with some saying record breaking lows- another saying the coldest temps in years.... :(

Thankfully so far they think this will be fast moving- and will move east and south by Friday enough to allow some high temps back up into the teens...

Well close the damn door OT.

We just received a severe weather warning for tonight.
70-100 km winds, 10 cm of snow and a high of - 27 for the week.
How the heck are the girls going to calve in that weather. It is scaring the bejeezus out of me.

It sounds like your weather is heading this way.

I heard it's headed this way tomorrow night, starting with snow and wind all the way through Monday, and then the damn cold till next week sometime. So not looking forward to it!

BLIZZARD CONDITIONS EXPECTED TONIGHT.
THE WINTER STORM WATCH HAS BEEN UPGRADED TO A BLIZZARD WARNING FOR SOUTHEASTERN PORTIONS OF THE PROVINCE. BLIZZARD CONDITIONS ARE FORECAST TO BEGIN TONIGHT FOR THE ABOVE MENTIONED REGIONS. Well- I'll take credit for the moisture coming in and causing the snow--but it looks like this cold is coming right thru yours and Shelly's back door- and I'm right in the center of the arrow head pointing where its going...

Beautiful this morning-- Calm before the storm-- was +35 at 6AM-- now up to 40 Above....
They say it will hit here around midnite.... :(

Kola--My Dad always said this country builds character and integrity---just think of the character and integrity you could build spending a Canadian winter calving--Ankony needs to go international- and you could handle the Edmonton ranch...

I might have been born at nite...but it wasn't last nite!!!  Not buying that load OT!! No way!!

I'll slide on the integrity/character offer, but thanks anyway.

The " banana belt" of Nebraska showed me all the winter I ever want to see!!!

Ankony is already international...it goes out in nitrogen tanks.

Well the bottom fell out of the thermometer here last night. Yesterday morning it was just barely freezing, in the afternoon the wind came up and it dropped to -34 by this morning. Thank God the wind quit..... I was starting to think it was Nebraska!

I just can't believe how beautiful today is...Since we just got the cows trailed home a couple weeks ago we still hadn't got them poured--and the last few days the lice were really popping out...

Been waiting for my son to get back on a nice day to help--but with the bad weather coming I thought I'd better get er done while I could...I fed in the lower lot to get them gathered--Got #3 daughter on her old saddle horse to corral them and keep the chute full- Grandma on one gate- me pouring and on the other gate- and it went plumb slick...

We just finished- temp is 48 Above- and the corral has something I haven't seen in some time MUD- a lot of snow left today with the 15 mph breeze blowing and lots of bare spots sticking thru.....But if this 30 Below comes in, it will make one thing---- ICE everywhere...

Well don't get too comfortable OT,cause that blizzard that we were supposed to get this eve....hit at around 10am....its NOT good!!!!Total whiteout, temps dropping fast :?

Snowing a bit here already, wind has really picked up, and the temp is dropping. Gonna get worse before it gets better. I feel for anybody who has to be out in the next 24 hours.

Started snowing at about 10:30 this morning, we're at at least 8 inches already, and supposed to keep on until tommorrow at noon, the one saving grace is we don't get a lot of wind or it would be really messy, temp. is 22 above at the moment. I would say kids will have a snow day tomorrow, we started calving a few days ago, but so far so good.

It's not gonna be fun... :(

MAJOR ARCTIC BLAST HEADING TOWARD SOUTHERN MONTANA AND NORTH CENTRAL WYOMING...

.A VERY COLD AIRMASS MOVING THROUGH ALBERTA WILL MOVE INTO NORTHERN MONTANA THIS EVENING AND INTO SOUTHERN MONTANA AND NORTH CENTRAL WYOMING LATE TONIGHT AND MONDAY MORNING. AHEAD OF THIS FRONT... MOIST AND UNSTABLE FLOW ALOFT WILL GENERATE A PERIOD OF HEAVY SNOW FOR THE MOUNTAINS AROUND COOKE CITY. AS THE FRONT MOVES INTO SOUTHERN MONTANA... TEMPERATURE FALLS OF 30 DEGREES IN 3 HOURS CAN BE EXPECTED ALONG WITH STRONG WINDS AND SNOW. THE COMBINATION OF WIND AND FALLING TEMPERATURES WILL ALLOW WIND CHILLS TO BECOME HAZARDOUS DURING THE AFTERNOON. WARM ROADWAYS THAT SEE SNOWFALL WILL BECOME ICY QUICKLY DURING THE MORNING AS MOISTURE FREEZES.

CONDITIONS WILL REMAIN HAZARDOUS MONDAY NIGHT UNTIL WINDS BEGIN TO CALM AND SNOW DECREASES AROUND MIDNIGHT. BITTERLY COLD TEMPERATURES CAN BE EXPECTED THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT.

A COMBINATION OF SNOW... WIND AND FAST FALLING TEMPERATURES WILL CAUSE HAZARDOUS CONDITIONS TO DEVELOP MONDAY MORNING.

TEMPERATURES WILL LIKELY FALL 20 TO 30 DEGREES FROM EARLY MORNING HIGHS AND FALL INTO THE SINGLE DIGITS BEFORE NOON. SNOW WILL ARRIVE BEHIND THE FRONT WITH 2 TO 3 INCHES OF NEW SNOW POSSIBLE. THIS WILL CAUSE ICY ROADS TO DEVELOP WITH AREAS OF BLOWING AND DRIFTING POSSIBLE.
