The cattle seem completely unconcerned about the Eclipse. They stayed that way during the whole event.

Jeremiah thinks the statement was probably true. He is a friend and local contractor, doing both carpentry and plumbing.

The dogs are done.

Peach and her mother. My mother-in-law is doing very well, and is nearly 91 years of age.

Even though it never did get too dark, and the sun was never visible at our location.

All of a sudden, it became brighter again. Sparky's theory is that two percent of non-darkness really puts out quite a bit of light.

Great day. Missed the eclipse here. Was checking fence and forgot to look. I can't believe Sparky didn't make a proper viewing contraption with welding glass.

Your family knows how to celebrate, Soapweed. Those girls are sure pretty. Your 91 year old mother-in-law looks
fantastic.

We spent the morning on the lake waiting for the eclipse. It was pretty much a dud here. Sure glad we didn't spend
a lot of time and money to see it. We heard several times that motel rooms in Casper, Wy was costing $2500. Hope they
got more out of it than we did!

In SW Montana, Feb. 1979, we experienced one. That one was much more impressive. Got dark, cattle stopped eating hay,
birds stopped singing, dogs howled, and the air pressure changed.

Thanks for sharing "The Day of the 2017 Eclipse" with us. They will be remembered moreso than the actual event.

I went to check pastures and make sure no one trespassed or left gates open as our summer range was right on the line, I stayed until almost totality but decided to beat traffic and left about 3/4 covered I did get down the road about 2 miles before it went dark and had to turn on the lights for about 2 miles. Not sure on number of people but both sides of the highway was packed for about 5 miles and county going east for 2 miles was also packed, saw interesting people that day as well as some high priced equipment. But they all behaved and no property was tore up. Your grandchildren are sure growing.
