It wasn't coyotes folks, trust me. No chew marks on ANY bones. None of the edges of the hide where it was opened up are torn or chewed. No drag marks anywhere around either animal like coyotes had even been in the vicinity. Also, the cow and calf both laid there for 4 days while the investigation was going on, and through those following nights, nothing touched either one. Crows and magpies didn't even land on 'em.
So, needless to say, I'm pretty comfortable ruling out varmints.
