on another board, some guy said that deer hunting was a joke, anybody could pull a trigger from a distance. that hunting was not survival....here is my smartass reply.....

I am a sporting man. I go out wearing only my loincloth, carrying a knife in one hand and a cup in the other. I stalk the deer walking slowly, pacing my breathing and my footsteps to the sounds of the squirrels collecting nuts for the winter. As I become one with nature, the deer can not detect me, for I am like the wind, I am there, but they can not see me.

I slip between them, patient and slow, then I rise up out of the shadow of death and take the beast to the ground, there is a struggle, but he knows he has met his end. with one quick pull of the blade I spill his life blood to the ground, he collapses and I split his chest, taking his heart out I drain the blood into the cup. I drink the warm blood taking the spirit of the animal deep into me, where we become one, and my warrior spirit grows. his heart, I take and place in the crook of a tree, as an offering to mother nature, so she will create more beasts for me to stalk. I sling the field dressed beast over my shoulder and begin the walk home. I am sad for the loss of such a great creature, but I know that is how it must be, for it is the circle of life. I know this because Mufassa told me this, and Elton John sang it to me also.

You have got to get me some of whatever you were drinking or smoking when you wrote that, Jigs. :D

I just sit back, relax, and let my mind wander.
I wish I knew how to get started in writing columns....it would be fun!

pretty much the same way....except I use cornhuskers for bait !

if you don't move fast enough and save the bait for later, then the bear eats too much and get the hershey squirts!

too much husker is just plain bad for ya!

I've been shipping out an awful lot from BC lately :) I wondered who was buying. Now we know :D
