Denver's Livestock Exchange Building

I worked for Wilson & Co while attending college and went to the Livestock Exchange Building daily to deliver checks for livestock Wilson had Purchased.

The building was quality built and today is much like it always was - except pretty empty, I think the Colorado Brand Board is still there. It is always nice to visit.

Another interesting building is the Pioneer Museum in Colorado Springs. This building was the El Paso County house until redplaced., Instead of tearing it down, they keep it in fine shape. The museum is freee although they have a donation bax in the lobby. Well worth the visit.

Back in the 1970's while attending the Denver Stock Show, I was in the Livestock Exchange Building. The Franklin Vaccine Company had an office in there back then, and I stopped by to say hi. I complimented them on the nice calendars they always put out each year using wonderful paintings and photographs, and offhandedly asked if they had any old calendar pictures on hand. A kind person volunteered to check this out. Upon arriving home a couple days later, I was pleasantly surprised to find that a package from the Franklin company had beat me home. There were over twenty very nice calendar pictures in the box. One artist that they often featured was Raphael Lillywhite, and several of his paintings were included. I still have a soft spot in my heart for Franklin veterinary supplies, even though the company has been out of business for many years.
