And that about concludes the day. We did load a semi and a stock trailer this morning and sold 46 cows that are 12 and 13 years old this spring. They went to southeast Nebraska, and we got $750 per head on a private treaty sale. The Sandhills Cattle Association once again came through with its fine far-reaching advertising.

Great pics Soap , looks like Ringo is going to have to Dog paddle his way out of town soon  , The cows you sold were they bred or culls or maybe both ? Sounds like you got good money for them :)

Neat pics as usual, Soapweed; and a fine old shootin' iron, never have seen one like it, what make is it?
And I have been through your town before.
Have a good 'un.

The cows are bred, nothing wrong with them except their age. We didn't mouth them, but I do know their year brands are "6" or "7" which makes them 12 or 13 years old, as of this spring. They are due to start calving February 26th.

Sure like the pictures. That old rifle looks like it has lots of storys! :D Glad you did well on your elderly bovines. I bet it's always hard to watch the cream for many years get on the truck! That puddle in town looks like a misplaced hockey rink! I'd blame Yanuck for trying to start a Twontwo weaf's fan club. Poor gal doesnt know any better!

That is an interesting old rifle. And indeed it has quite a story. I remember my granddad showing me and my brothers that gun. In fact the "friend" that gave it to your son, is your cousin! Glad Will likes it!

I thought it would be easier to say "friend" than "second cousin once removed." :-) Besides, your brother is one of my son's best friends. He was the one Will chose to be his best man at his wedding.

If you want to share the story about the gun, it would be quite interesting.

Enjoy the nice weather. It's pretty mild for late February. :-)

Is that town North Platt I been thought there a long time ago. I have also talk to a guy on a plane ride to Amarillo that was going there to work on a potato farm. I never knew they raised Potatos in Neb. :???:
