....that the ink would set better on Y Tex tags if you nuked them a wee bit in the microwave??

I thought I remembered reading that here once.

Our neighbor says that works. We don't though. The stuff we use Tuff Flex. It is in a bottle and it is like really thick paint. That stuff never wears off.

I think I remember someone saying that, but it was after you put the ink on.

What are you using to put the numbers on with, a pen or the bottled ink. That bottled ink works good, but I cant find that type where you could control the flow of ink by adjusting the top screw part on the bottle. The new stuff is like a ball point pen and if you push too hard you get a large flood of ink.

sic'em We get our bottled ink at Runnings, I suppose you could get it at Farm and Fleet, or any other farm supply store. We used the pen ink one season and it all rubbed off. We had some trouble figuring out whose calf was whose.

Yep, it works. Just be sure to do a few test runs. As with anything, a little bit is good but a whole lot isn't necessarily better.

Why not use a Dremel tool to put the numbers on and fill them with ink??
Maybe that would work if you don't like Ritchie Tags.

I believe the effort would be worthwhile, IMHO
