We heard about it while watching the Timed Event Championship. He passed from complications from covid last December. He won the very first TEC. He changed the art of heeling, for sure. There is a documenarty on him "Changing the game, how the Camarillo family revolutionized the sport of team roping." I didn't know that existed. We are about the same age, so when we were going to ropings, he was the most talked about roper going down the road. We have been to ropings he was at, we were always impressed with his horsemanship. Walt Woodard wrote about him in the book, "Why we win." It was funny.

I didn't meet him, but him and Jerold were entered at the San Juan Capistrano Rodeo in California when I was there. Boy could those two rope!
