Sorry if this has already been posted, I have been away from the computer for a few days. Last night on the National Geographic channel they had a program on the Charanga(sp) said to be the creatur for the bovine mutilations. I remember a few months ago there was a thread on them. They were trying to figure out if they were real or cryptozoological. There was some pretty interesting things on about what they are rumored to look like.

They went on about that the so called creature had been "active" in Puerto Rico for years and had been blamed for animal deaths. A villager in Puerto Rico claimed that he had shot and killed one. They found the carcass a day later and the decomposition was to severe to make a ruling on what it was. It is supposed to be green and/or brown with big bumblee eyes and walks on two feet. The intresting part was the surgical cuts that it makes. When they went back and let a cow decompose naturally the same things were found that this creature was said to be responsible for. At the end of the program they said all of the mutilations or killings were proably from natural causes and the natural process an animal goes through. More than likely anyone one who claims that there were ailens killing their cows were not checking their cows often enough.

Ranchy - Mountains of western New Mexico, eh?? Hard to get VHF TV? If you acquire a Satellite System (DirecTV or Di$h Network) you can get GOOD TV reception. GOOD TV is another question, as that is an oxymoron - but as least what you can see is clear and bright. RFD TV is worth the money and the effort, as is National Geographic and a few others. All you need is - - "a clear view of the Southern Sky's" and you are in business.

Also "Les Feldick" is MORE THAN WORTH THE EFFORT!
Channel 321 on DirecTV - M-F - (9:00 AM Mtn Time) and Sat. 6:30 PM. Eternity is a LONG time!

Here's a place where I disagree with you Doc. I personally think the "national pornographic" is nothing more than a tree hugging, bunny saving, don't cut the tree down, leftis gorillia loving bunch of liberal commies.. JMO. Story after story has something to do with the endangerment of the tibeten monks way of life because of ozone depletion from fossil fuels and burning the amazon...

I DON'T disagree with you very much, Red Robin. You just have to be selective, and once in a while a pretty good documentary raises its' head. Also, I was thinking of "Disovery" channel rather than NG, however you have to be VERY discriminatory with Disc. also - because it is " I say! British - don't you know - By Jove and "isn't it??" Socialist Libs!

DON'T GET ME STARTED!

Doc, we have the whole shebang here at the casa, but Hubby decided we were spending too much time watching tv, so had it disconnected. So now, he reads whatever western he can get his hands on (usually because I've checked them out at the library  ), Al and I either computer or DVD.........and we miss a lot of the old, funny shows we loved to watch on TVLand, and that kind. Shortly before hubby got the satellite disconnected, we discovered the RFD channel, and all loved it!

I'm thinking maybe it would be cheaper, to just hubby disconnected and get the tv hooked back up again!
