Enough is enough, huh :? ??? Sorry to see you lost one, I hope that's your only loss. Your cattle look amazing for all they've been through. Hang in there, lets hope this weather straightens out soon!

Gosh, Soapweed, this will be a winter to remember. One of those
you can tell your grandkids how it was 'in the good old days.'
And you've got the pictures to prove it!!!!!!!!!!

Things should just get better from here on out. The long range
forcast looks pretty darn welcome.

All your calves look good, but the one with the 'snowflakes in the air'
caption looks extraordinarily (have you ever tried to spell typy or
typie? Neither one looks riight. :P ) I'll try this--that calf looks extraordinarily classy (for lack of a better word. Think I should
head to bed now.)

Man soapweed you guys got dumped on. And all that stinkin wind. I looked at the radar all day yesterday and night trying to see what the weather was going to do down here at our place, and you guys where just getting dumped on all day long. To bad about your calf and your cows look really good after the storm. How much snow do you think you guys got up there? I have some relatives that live in Chappel and they said they got about 10 inches.

I am guessing we got somewhere between a foot and fifteen inches. It is pretty hard to say for sure, because the wind drifted it so much. There are several snowdrifts between the house and the barn that are crotch deep on a tall white guy. :? Someday this snow will turn into water, which will turn into grass, which will turn into beef, which will turn into very good tasting food. It will be worth the wait. :-)

I'll trade you our mud for yours. Hope these storms are over. Nice pics, but will appreciate them more next Summer. :P

Soapweed, you folks have really had a winter! We have been very blessed to have missed most of the storms predicted for our area and which hit hard within 20 miles of us. Not so with this one! We got at least 10inches and plenty of wind. Rough as it is here, much of it blew off the roads and plenty of hillsides protected enough to spread out the hay.

Wish we had lost only one, tho. THose born out in pastures. Saturday night....about the only place we calve except for putting some hiefers in a lot....didn't do so well! Think we lost five and it got awfully cold last night, but no wind, so am hoping the count doesn't go up. Haven't seen anyone bringing in anything yet, tho and they have been out several hours now.

Good soil moisture is the plus in all this.

Things look a tad bit crappy too at your place. Seems like everytime hubby gets a path plowed open, the wind blows it back in worse...We haven't had a pickup out of the shop for 3 days now..It's tractor transportation only...I haven't heard how many calves we've lost over the last 3 storms...I hate to ask when the guys aren't in a good mood anyway...I'm like you though Soap and have visions of green grass and plenty of water in the months to come...Hang in there..It's got to get better!!!

Amazes me how ya can see the "bright side" of things when it's that bad. Prayers for ya'll that not too much loss comes of these storms.

Id'a done packed my diddy bag.....LOL ya'll are some tuff cookies!!!!

As long as I have my health, family and friends, I really don't have any problems at all. I try not to ever lose perspective on that.

You got dumped on. There were some pictures taken in Rushville NE on the weather channel this morning, had the sound turned down since the kids weren't up yet so I don't know the details. If the one was all you lost you did very well, talked to a friend whose brother-in-law got hit boy one of the storms that went south of us counted 168 dead calves between himself and 4 neighbors. Kind of a tough way to get moisture for grass.
