Got 2 1411's, one is a 2000 and the other a few years newer. Any machine that can survive this ground for this long is a good one. Operator makes a difference but our repair bills are nothing compared to the time we ran sickle type haybines.
Ran one few years ago, it stood up to use and abuse of some pretty hard country. They are simple enough to work on yourself, nothing that needs a lot of expensive tools to handle. Spend a few bucks every so often and it will hang around for a while.
I have a 1431 that I have dragged around quit a bit. Everything else I have is green. I think NH makes a good mower.
Bearings on the left hand side drive are too small on a 1431 and will only last about 1200 acres. There is room for the next flange block if you sleeve the shaft. That helps some.
Mine is about wore out and I wouldn't be afraid to replace it with a good looking used one. Haven't seen anything I like better.
