Last night and this morning wasn't too pretty :?. I'm guessing it only snowed 5 inches... hard to tell with the 50 mph winds which came with it. Temps weren't terrible last night, low twenties, but the windchill was rough.

New bull sleeping it off... it was like a bad hangover :lol:.

I waited until mid-morning to feed. By that time the sun was out and visibility was great :D. It's been a chilly day though.

I locked the heifers up in a small lot so they wouldn't drift. Glad I did it!

We didn't get any snow.YET. Sure was cold and windy. Sounds like it went all around us. Lets hope everybody is safe out there. :-)


We were out of power for 20 hours but i put the generator on the next day for 12 hours.
 
Missed the march 23 calf killer ? How would you be like the bull breeders around Veteran Wy

I moved from there long ago. But that storm is coming in. 22 bales of alfalfa hay coming in tomorrow to get me through this.
A two hour rain down to 53 now going to be 37 in the morning. The pear trees bloomed today and dog wood bloomed yesterday and pretty much done with calving.
Lice is really tough on the cattle now. Grass grew a lot today but that freeze will put it back.
This storm reminds me when a kid I found a calf and got into a well house I thought I was at the Hilton Hotel.
 
Yes those Wyoming cattle wintered pretty good the cows and calves look good. Nice bull also.

Some people that do not winter their cattle as good as yours did.. do not understand it takes a while for the cows and calves to come out of it and is really kinda hard on them. Your calves are ready to get going keep us posted Good job.
 
We never see any temps like that down this way. Makes you really wonder how tough those cows really are. Ice and snow covered and came right out of it. BBBBBBRRRRRRRRRRRR thats just too cold for me.

Good looking stock and it is obvious that you are doing it right.

It just marvels me to see how thick an old bulls hide is.

One thing, Tennesse 20 degrees is a lot diffrent than Montana or Wyoming or ND or SD 20 degrees. I bet it's different than Nebraska
20 degrees as well. We visited Missouri in the winter...40 degrees there you would freeze your fanny off.

I'm happy things turned out okay for you Wyoming Rancher.
Your cattle look really good.
 
Thanks for the compliments :D. It's supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow, so maybe moisture is on its way yet... this time without 50 mph winds :shock:.

Lucky, yes, and I'll take it :D! Meridian, Idaho huh? My best friend growing up lives in Meridian... she and her husband are both equine vets. Sounds like a nice place to live.
