My vote goes to number 3 tho.....cuz it appears that #3 is the only dog that is actually working! The rest are goofing off.

#3 is just a shadow in the grass and that old cow in in for a surprise when he latches on.

Some dogs have a diferent job. They may look like they are goofing off but they may be dooing exactly what the are supose to do.

The Red bench is the Mother of the Blue Dog in #1 (Mother and Son pulling in the same direction ????)

We were down the Coast next door to "Hurst Castle Ranch" helping a friend bring some bull up from the bottom - one bull turned back - while my dog and I held 2 bulls Linnie told 'Sid' (the blue dog) to "Get Around" - - about 1/2 way there Sid stopped and looked back - Lonnie again said :Get Around: - Sid look at him as if the were 'Nuts' :GET AROUND: came the command :!:

The next thing I saw 'Sid was Air Borne' He had been standing on top of a 35' chiff we could not see (the brush broke his fall) and he came out with the bull!

AMAZING!!!

He didn't look at your friend like he thought he was nuts, HE KNEW HE WAS!!!

It seems to me that all good cattle dogs, stop and check back to see
if they are proceeding properly. Some just go for it, and all be damned, but the real good ones, sure seem like they check back.

You won't catch nothing from me cuz i happen to know i'm an excellent handler and my corgi is the smartest in Texas!!  8) :P  :!:

Corgi's are in the herding category, but I think nowadays they are more in the "lay on the couch in the air condition house and be spoiled" category. 8)

Everyone be sure to look over the enrty in the #10 spot. I managed to misplace it and just now got it posted.

Tibbs...that dog is working too.

LOL..first Corgi I ever saw was on a stock training tape I ordered for my Borders. they were using a Corgi in the tape. That booger could really work..I wanted a traveling buddy when I found our first Corgi, there was a gal selling them at a Horse Sale we hauled to. He went everywhere we went...best worker/companion we had. Til he saw a kid, oh that dog loved kids of ever variety. We missed him at the trailer when we came out of the ring once, couldnt find him....saw a group of folks laughing and such...went over and there he was in the middle entertaining their 3 yr old daughter. They tried everything to buy him from us. Had old Rev for over 6 yrs, when we lost him. "Lady" the one I have now..lol she likes to think she works. She is 14 yrs old. She will defenitely still chase a cow/or horse. But, her main job is chasing armadillos out of the yard, oh yea and patroling the cats in the house now that Sage has 2 of them in there.

I took the pic to be a smart alec. (Pic 4) I'll try to have the camera ready when our Corgi gets to work in the chute and chasin cows into the trailer. He has NO FEAR and gets the job done. When we're ridin cross country, that little Corgi won't quit, and won't ask for a ride. He's a tough bugger, but at the fair, he's sweet to the kids and won't bite anyone. Good thing cuz he bites HARD, got my finger in the way when he was biting at something, wished I hadn't done that  OD/NT, Corgis are good working dogs...just got to find the place they work best in. Ours seems to develop more over time and watches other dogs work cattle and he will mimick them. That is how he learns. If we don't like his behavior we let him know posthaste and he drops it. He loves to please his human companions. 8) :D

Yep! I know - - On the couch or around the camp fire with those Big Fish Storied their owner tell to build their ego.

One thing Corgi's have more than their share of "EGO" :)
