First calf came 4/3 and the last came 5/5

I had 8 bulls and 10 heifers - - - 1 bull was killed by lighting last Monday the rest seem to be doing great.

Now the bull is penned alone till the 1sy of July and we will give him his independence a few days early.

The last few years I have had almost all bulls and the few heifers I had were not worth keeping - - - I think about 6 of these could be good enough to keep. I have 2 cows that I would not be disappointed if they came in open this fall.

This bull after breeding my 18 cows went for a 90 day visit with 16 santa gertudis cows that had been AIed for fall calves - - - We will see if he was able to do clean-up for them. Came back in good shape but I had to teach him not to bellow and approach me when he came back.

I will not tolerate a bull that does not respect humans! With a small operation like mine I am walking thru them a couple of times a day and while I normally have several German Shepherds with me I still want them to yield to my presence!

Yeah done here to, it's always a good feeling to reach the end. I had 55 calves out of 53 cows but lost 1 twin from each set.

There are a lot of good bulls out there. I would dump a bad attitude bull quick especially when your working on foot.
