Driest ever

I'll be stocked about 30% of normal-if it rains we'll just let some pastures rest and build up some carryover-I walked across my muskkeg and didn't get my boots wet which doesn't happen often. Another benefit of water is I can hear the bears coming into the stand better-they drift in like smoke usually.

Sitting real good in NW South Dakota. Good fall moisture, lots of snow, and a couple nice rains as well. Off to a good start.

Well we got a nice shower last night and it is still overcast today with predictions of more.

So we have enough to get the grass going finally. Don't have a gauge out but I'd guess that we got 1/4 to 1/2 inch going by the puddles in the yard.

April showers . . . are very welcome!

We have had one of the wettest winters on record the weatherman said. The Trinity River has run 3/4 to bank full all winter and just now has started falling. Our pastures are in the best shape they have been in years. Our clover crops are unreal this year. We will be cutting it for hay in the next month. The weatherman is saying we could get 2-3 inches tonight and Wednesday and we have just finally dry out some so this will just moist it up again. I wish we could send you some, but after 2 years of drought, mud is nice to have. I just hope it don't turn off after this rain and don't rain again for 6 months.
