And, others in the southern plains...

I hear a good ol' October blizzard is likely headed your way. While I'm sure the moisture will be greatly appreciated, please take care of yourselves and your families, and be safe.

Please know that you're in our thoughts and prayers.

Cheers---

TTB

PS: I bet the kids are excited at the prospects of a snow day!

Supposed to be around 4-6 inches to begin with overnight - though I'm already getting tired of hearing the radios cussing all the time. I thought they weren't allowed to say stuff like that on the radio? But they all keep a-sayin' that b-word over and over.
Luckily a good part of the calves have already been shipped, so just have to gather up what's left fore the storm hits.

Y'all stay safe and warm out there.

Started raining about 7:30 in the San Luis Valley, great big snowflakes started falling about 8:30. At least the wind that blew hard all afternoon while I was loading semis with hay has stopped blowing. (Nope, no cab on the old 3020) As I type this at 9:30 the snow has stopped, about an inch on the ground.

Be interesting to see what is on the ground in the morning.

In Colorado Springs this week, and the radio's saying that all of the Air Force Bases non mission-essential personnel here don't have to go to work.

That's a new one to me. When I was stationed here I never got outta work for a little snow and ice.

Already got 4 inches and climbing.

we are midway between Colorado Springs and Denver. It is snowing like heck and the wind is about 25 MPH. Looks like we have about 14 inches so far, but supposed to taper off this PM.

Ranch, which is about 100 miles east, has had only rain so far.

Daughter, along withs SIL and three kid went into the mountains in an RV for the week. They called last night and are apparently holing up in Canon City.

Interstate 25 which runs thru Denver and Colo Spgs is a colossal mess. The elevation there, which is about 10 miles from us is over 7200 feet - about the same as Donner summnit in California. Mostly, we ignore it, it generally snows half a dozen time a winter. Commuters who have to use it must be really tough.

Been in Raton most of the day and the snow was flying in the air their but nothing was sticking when I left around 1:30. Here at the house about 45 miles south and a little east all we have is a few clouds and a very cold north wind.

24 inches... Yikes, that is aobut a years worth here.. Although we have had our first fluries of the year already... We don't havet o worry about snow usually till December with Thanksgiving weekend always being a possibility too... I like the snow personally, is good for the ground.
