I really thought we'd seen the last of that white crap...

The worst thing is that yesterday it was 80F and the grass was really starting to come on.

Rod

It is cold enough here that my garden was frosted and burnt black. The grass is not growing and it is dry.

I'm glad we didn't get snow. But the moisture would be nice.

:? I'm hearing the snows heading our way this long weekend,no camping happening here,I'm staying inside and unpacking the winter clothes

Kindly keep the white stuff up/over there. We are supposed to brand this weekend, so don't need any moisture, of any sort right at the moment!

Well it finally quit. About 2.5 inches laying on the ground in the sheltered areas, and now I hear them say its supposed to freeze hard which will set the grass back a week or two. Wish someone would develop a grass that would grow in subzero temps, 'cause I was really looking forward to parking the loader.

Rod

Hopefully the snow will protect what grass you have from the freeze. I hope this smartens up so you can park the tractor and enjoy some warm weather!

Yesterday I was showing your pictures to Grandma- and we were chuckling about how much your yard looks like ours-- same barbeque and trampoline setup (for the Grandkids)...We also commented about how the weather could be that different since we were 85 yesterday...

Well during the night Rod shared-- the wind came up, the temp dropped down into the 30's and it felt like winter again (altho we got no snow- YET)....

Only 42 here now with a cold cold wind-- hazy and looks like it could start raining (or snowing) any minute---but the good news is they say this could blow in 2 or 3 days of rain..... :)

If you don't want it, send it on down , OT we will take it.

Brrr its cold outside, the windchill says -5 on our weather station, and the news is calling for a bad snowfall tonight. This upsets me because all my fruit trees are in full bloom :(

The fruit trees everywhere are blooming furiously and they're so pretty. I do hope the weather straightens out for you. It's sunny here now, after raining long enough today to mess up branding for us and the neighbors. I guess it'll get done when it gets done, and no use going gray over it.

Ok..I gotta ask this. WHEN does it NOT snow in Alberta???? It seems that everyday you Alberta folk are facing a snow storm!!

I was on summer vacation once on the " highLine" in MT. Rolled up in the sleeping bag in a nice evening of about 50 degrees or so....woke up to 17" of frickin' snow the next AM with my tent swinging low and heavy. I could not put on enough clothes!!!

I'd go nutz!!

July.......wait a minute its been known to snow in July too,

Its foggy this morn and the weathers warmed up a bit so it looks like it may pass us,and yes Kola I get really tired of this weather. I grew up in Southern Alta, and really miss the weather they get,its alot warmer. They can have a blizzard one minute and a Chinook hits and an hour it can be really nice.

The word " blizzard" and " nice" in the same sentence......NO WAY!!

Not to my Southern temperate hide anyway!!

First summer in Montana it snowed on the fourth of July.. NOt much, but up in the mountains they get a couple inches I think.. May for sure you were not safe and Late August also.. Mostly May-September you were pretty safe in the valleys the years I was there but the rest of the year you just never knew... I dunno, I beleive in a nice Blizzard as long as I have no where to go and nothing to do... Late March Early April snow storms here are great usually as it generally means a lot of moisture that will trickle into the soil as it melts over te next 48 hours..

I do hear you on the camping though... I did that with my brother when he visited and went to bed with a nice 45-55 degree temps and than had 7 inches fall over night and it drop down to around 17... Brrrrrr for me... I won't even say what it was for him..

It works when thats what it takes to fill all the dams and waterholes. We ain't had one in a looooooonnnngggg time. :(

Seems like, if we don't get a blizzard or two, we sure don't have that great of a year.

Poor little hothouse flower, you.

Should have said somethin'. We would have gotten you some anti-freeze.

I have pics somewhere of my kids using five gallon pails for a mold to build a snow fort after a brief storm in August that left us six inches of snow.
