no, pero me hablar en espanol! not very good though...

how many people are in your french class??

there are 4 in my spanish class all girls too  i love it, we get to goof off alot because we get things done quickly, i told a story in a funny voice today and made my friend jump when the evil squirrel turned out to be right there on my shoulder haha it was hilarious...since our class is so small, and one was gone today, us three girls sat on the back heater since it was cold and we just did our work from there, leaned back against the wall with our feet on the chairs lol. the teacher is pretty nice, she even gives us hot chocolate some days...

We lived in French-speaking Belgium for four years. Wife had OK French. both kids were fluent. I muddled along.

We often took the neighbors kids with us to the park. When we left, they came up all excited and I didn't understand more than a few words. They were truly surprised that I didn't speak French.

When I wanted them, I said "ici" or here.
Sil vous plait, merci and bon bon had them fooled.
I did know numbers, days, months, etc and could ususally get what I needed.

I can swear a bit in French, but I won't get into that here.

I can swear a bit in Polish too.

When you learn from people who speak it instead of from a real teacher, those are the first things you pick up.  :D

ah...none of our classes are that big, except for band, which has like 50 ppl in it this year (7th and 8th graders). i would hate big classes like that! how many people in your school? we have 265 in 7-12 i think.

We have 330 or so in 9-12. All the rest of my classes, besides home ec have 15 or less peple in it, I prefer the bigger classes, cause you can goof off without getting detected more often, Beleive me, I know :P

How do you think I posted this during french the first time, anyways?? lol. :P

ahh, i see, in band with like 50 ppl in there, we can mess around alot, but in our regular classes of 20 or so we cant, its nice having an algebra I class with 5 people in it and a spanish with 4, we get to goof off alot

I took French I as a senior, with all the freshman/ sophomore girls.... no homework for jigs!!

there was a gal who had personalized plates on her car...said the french version of F-You.....lasted 2 years, then the French teacher told the principle what it said...he told mom and dad, then the plates were gone.

My mother spoke French. So my sister and I ganged up and refused to take it in school for fear Mom would make us speak it at the table which she had inadvertantly and ill-advisedly mentioned once. (Stupid move on our part- we could have been fluent and slid through the school language requirement.) Just another of my stupid moves as a kid.

Then I was hit with the quadruple whammy while living in Denmark and had to take simultaneously: French, Danish, German and Norwegian (or was it Swedish?  ). After 1/2 year I came away speaking a mishmash of foreign words all with a strong American accent. Jack of all languages, master of nary a one. :dunce:
