A day when you've just sorteed a hot cow out of a couple hundred-brought her across the pasture and your sisters Rottweiller/German Shephard/Chow/Irish Setter cross cowdog wanna be chase her over the gate just before the A'I' corrals. I heard the screech just as I clicked the shutter from the front step lol.

There is nothing I hate more in this life than an idiot wannabe cow dog. I was helping the neighbor Anthrax vaccinate a couple weeks ago, and if that dog of his was mine, I would have shot the bugger. We'd finally get the animals travelling the chute well, and the dirty little SOB would crawl into the chute at the head, and chew on the leaders nose. We had several wrecks that day with cattle crawling backwards or on top of one another trying to get away from the dog. The neighbor was frustrated, as he would sic the dog away, but his father would call the dog back every stinkin time. If the father had been mine, I likely would have shot him too

Between his rickety old squeeze and that dog, it took us 5 hours to do what should have been a 2 hour job.

Don't lame the dog, blame the owner.. Some dogs, and some people have no business being around livestock.. It is the dogs owner that is responsible for keeping the dog away... We have wanne be cowdogs and cowdogs here and all know to stay the heck away from the cows when I am working them in a chute..

The livestock Guard dogs aren't qo bright but they don't bother the livestock, they just like stealing my coolers full of vaccines

Life would be pretty boring if we didn't have a dog fence a cow once in awhile-when I was focusing he looked like stock dog of the year following that cow in lol.
