Everyone's most memorable hunt?

I have a few... and coincidentally we shot something on every one of these that I really remember :P.

I will do these in pictorial format. haha.

I don't have any pictures of this one, but my first hunting trip where I could carry a gun was in memory of my Grandpa who passed away months before. I ahot my first deer, a doe, at fifteen yards. I missed the first two shots :oops: (I like to be ethical :P) and planted one in the thinker with the third.

The day I shot my first buck

I was with my other Grandpa and an uncle, we didn't shoot anything but a coyote in the morning, then I gut shot this one and Grandpa finished the deed. He got a 5x5 with a drop tine 15 minutes later.

My First mule deer

I was with a different uncle and I put a .30-06 shell through the front shoulders on this 3x4, and Dad shot an antler off after I told him not to shoot (And he says I have a problem with listening :dunce:). After we loaded him, Uncle got his buck, a 5x5 and Dad shot a doe. He needs to up his standards :lol:

The day that Grandpa shot his biggest whitetail to date:

We were just driving around the first weekend of the season looking for coyotes, I cant give any details, we got stuck and they put a stalk on him. before we knew what happened we all gathered around for a group picture. lol. (I don't have the group pic, just the ones from my phone later that night while we were skinning.)

Sorry for the long post but I am talkative and all today... being sick is no fun.

Does anybody else have pictures and/or stories to share?
 
you should have got a better pic. of me 8) but i was prittty proud of that doe that i got on my own :lol: you should tell them how many yards your first deer was when you missed it twice (cuz you were being ethical)lol

that buck would have to be it.

i didnt shoot it unfortunetly. but i was there! this poor guy had gotten his rack into some wire. (obviously lol). he had it wrapped around his throat too. was in pretty deep. wasnt gonna make it through the winter, thats for sure. he also had one of his back legs shot off. the guy got it mounted with the wire and all. its pretty sweet.

Those Red Heads can be nice mounts when they are done in the spread eagle position, but tend to be expensive. That placement really emphasizes the power of the breast.

Did you call her in, or was she just coming in with the flock to feed?

Expensive? Let me tell you about expensive! I had a new house in Omaha, a red Porsche 944, a new Ford pickup, money in the bank, etc... 10 years later I'm living in a 80 year old house in the backwoods of Nebraska, the Porsche is long gone - still have the same pickup, and the money has been replaced with two kids who constantly drain any funds that I may build up.

She was in a bunch that was circling, looking for a place to land. A buddy and I began calling them and brought them into range. He picked out the lead one, a yellow crested double breasted mattress thrasher, and I took the easy one that swung my way. I lead her just right, squeezed the trigger, and bang, my tag was filled.

Interesting thing about those doublebreasted mattress thrashers, you can mount them more than once, but the frequency really drops off over the years.
 
Sport#u&@ing (insert your own letters) can be expensive for sure.

Loss of desire for it is certainly a godsend too! Or we'd all die broke.

that is a good one. I usualy tell people I am suprised I have any kids....usually when you plant the seed too deep, nothing grows!
