This is what it looks like in Utah and Garfield County, Montana. It's the worst I have ever seen. In SE MT hay can't be found for over 300 miles and then the cost is prohibitive. Those folks are wondering what it will be like next year. So sad. Tragic. And then the grasshoppers.
I did hear that the Montana Governor lifted restrictions on truckers to help with hauling feed into the state. Mt. is fortunate that they have a governor that cares about agriculture and will take steps to help.
The first photo is in UTAH, (I labeled it wrong) the second shows Garfield County in Eastern Montana. Both are in drastic shape.
Western drought brings another woe: voracious grasshoppers
A drought blanketing the U.S. West is drying up waterways, sparking wildfires and leaving famers scrambling for water. Next up: voracious grasshoppers.
