Normally we don't get much Fall color. I've said that for years. I don't know if I was right and this is an unusual year, or maybe I"m just payin a lil closer attention to the colors. Who knows...but there are some pretty trees right now.

This is one of the prettiest tree's I've ever seen, I don't know what kind it is...I think it's a red oak. Sure is red tho.

We have a lot of color in Central Texas,also...thought it was a bit odd..the cedar and pine really set the colors off... Every leaf on the tallow tree I have is a different color..sure pretty for a trash tree.. By Friday all the leaves should be at the coast,we're supposed to be in for a wind/rain/coldsnap..

That red tree from a distance looks like a sweet gum to me or some other type of gum tree... That is the only tree that I know that is that big and that brillant red but I don't know a lot of souther trees so who knows. Our colors didn't happen this year. Everything was dull... Very, very dull... Didn't help that the sun didn't come out at all for 2 weeks there..

Beautiful pics Lilly...... I have to agree w/ ya.. I love the red leaf tree... Very nice... looks almost like one of those pics u take family pics infront of or as a background ya know.... Not real sure how that would look... I kinda sorta REALLY suck at takin pics....
Nice job on the pics though....

Neat pictures, and think about it............everyone is envious of you and your weather now.

uh....yeah!!! with more than just a few inches of the WHITE STUFF on the ground and the temp hanging around zero right now...those blue skies and warm temps sure are inviting!!!

Like I said, I"m not real sure what kinda tree that red tree is....but somewhere in the back of my mind I think I remember Father in law sayin it was a red oak. I've never heard of a black gum tree down here...we do have sweet gum trees tho.....which the very last picture is.
When I get back out to the pasture and can remember, I'll get closer to that red tree and take a picture of the leaves. If it's an oak of any kind I'll know those leaves.

Charlie,
No I don't freelance. I just take pictures for myself, and to share with friends and family. (And of course all of you here on Ranchers :D but...ya'll fall into the friends catagory)

I'm just startin my end of the year Picture CD.....So far so good with no hair pullin takin place........................yet. :?
