Well today is the day! Every year for over the past 30 or 35 years, we have hosted a "May bush walk" for those of my siblings and offspring who want to go for a walk to see the spring flowers in our hardwood bush.
Usually, there are about 30 who come. Over the years, we have been blessed to have quite a few new faces join in around the circle as the younger ones find partners and begin their own little families.
And the food that shows up, potluck style! Oh my goodness, the food!
Because there are so many involved, there are usually a few missing whose plans or distances from here prevent them from coming. Like my brother and his family from Victoria, B.C. I think they should just buy tickets and come, don't you?!
Having a loving and caring family is the best gift one could have on this earth, in my opinion. I think this is our best family gathering of the year.
