Katrina called this morning to see if we would be around. Steve from New Jersey and his wife, Annie (a native of Scotland), were in the area visiting,
so Katrina, Steve, and Annie stopped by for a visit. Katrina is in the middle in this photo. Steve has a hobby of jet skis, so brought along three of his favorite "water pets."

Loading up the toys. It was fun getting to know Steve and Annie, and having a chance to visit with Katrina again.

Cal sent them my way to stop in before they got to Soap's. Had a nice visit with them - real nice folks - all of them.

Annie has the most killer accent. Annie, if you're reading this, I meant to tell you that years ago, a buddy of mine and I were going to go to Scotland to find our wives because we both loved that accent. We never made it and both ended up marrying Iowa girls. Steve is a lucky man...

The next generation just returned home. Peach should get some well deserved down time now. :-) Kosmo and his cutie will get the work done and now that Sr. Soap is back it will free up Soapweed from so much blogging duties (I hope not). :-) :-)

We just made it back to Jersy,... it was a fun trip, but way to short!... for all who made it such great fun and were so very welcoming Thank you!,

It was great meeting old friends, (some for the first time in person), and making many more new friends, unfortunately between our cell phones not working to well out west, and my laptop just up and quitting, and not enough time, we were unable to visit everyone... for those we missed (some by only a few miles) we are truly sorry.. and will somehow make it up... and next time I will bring alot more salt water taffy.. (who would have known it was so well liked???) :?

and again,.. Thank you!

Steve and Annie

I'm thinking a trade in chokecherry jelly for salt water taffy.... Dang that is good stuff and I'm not a candy eater...LOL... Really!!!!
I'm anxious to here how things went in Pierre??? And what prank did you play on Cal?? Dang I missed it!!!
Anyways talk to ya later!!!
Tell Annie hi for me... That girl rocks!!!!

I'm thinking a trade in chokecherry jelly for salt water taffy....

were you talking to friends in North Dakota, and found out how much I missed chokecherry jelly? maybe we can work out a deal..

I had almost forgot about chokecherry jelly until we stopped up at friends on the N/S Dakota border.. Annie who doesn't normally eat pancakes, had a few with chokecherry jelly for her first time.. (In my humble opinion it is alot better then salt water taffy)

I'll send a longer PM about Pierre.. but for those who know me, know that we went to look up a bit on my family and to search the records.. we had some real surprises, and a few records that could not be found. but overall the lady at the office was "extremely" diligent, nice and friendly.. and really searched when she could not find the records. even with what little we had to go on.

We missed Cal,.. he was really busy ( as was everyone) and my phone quit and my laptop died at the worst possible time.. so we couldn't set up a time.. as for a prank... it'll have to wait.. and get more elaborate.. (we will have to see what we can think up)..

I think next trip we will have to take more pictures and put up an update online.. (if the laptop gets fixed or replaced)

we have started talking about going to the state fair in Huron as Annie has never been to a state fair.. but we'll have to see what we can work out..

BTW:.. great to see you back on Ranchers.. but it seems Kola has left... while I was gone.. what an odd coincidence?

Good pics, like the cows in the background.

the cows were well trained, one pass by Peach on her red jetski and they headed for the hills.. hope they are as cooperative next time Soapweed wants um moved...

Soapweed and Peach have a really nice place... I really was impressed by their use of windmills,.. his photos really show how they take care of them, but until you see the hillsides and pastures it is hard to understand how they rely on them..

overall a real nice family.... and what great photos Soap takes.. but our visit not only shows he can take great photos of others working, but can get a few while they are playing to...

Huron this year???

I will be there hopefully showing my colt.... (With fingers crossed.)

you'll have to post a pic and start sending Annie e-mails of encouragement..

we "started" looking at RV's ... not sure what we need yet.. or where we would put it yet.. but we both really liked Hot Springs.. (except for the deer in town in the day).. well Annie liked that to but it shows that some hunting needs to be done...

I hadn't been to Hot Springs since I was a child.. and it was Annie's first time in the southern part of the hills.. usually we go to Spearfish, Deadwood, or to the north..
