I love to sew & quilt and this is my latest project I finished this morning. I thought you all might be able to appreciate it a little bit! :) My kitchen has a farm theme so this will be a wall hanging for it. Now I just need to put the back on it and get it all finished up!! In case they don't show up, the green border has chickens scattered about on it. Have a great day. :)

My mom is into quilting and that work would make her proud!!!

Be thinking how you will hand it down in the family, you might have to make more than one.

That's AWESOME! Thanks for sharing, one of these years I'll be able to finish all the projects I started before having kids........I love to tat, maybe I can finish a few doilies I started many years ago...maybe...

That's beautiful!!!! I love to quilt, but only in the winter time. Seems I never have time any other part of the year. (course if I wasn't on ranchers, I could...but...but.... :D )

I tried to learn how to tat.......Mr Lilly's Granny could do it, but all I could do with a tattin shuttle was make knots

Thanks, everyone. :) I have made several quilts, but I think this might be my new favorite!!

I hear ya Lilly about the time thing this time of year. I am usually full time by now hauling hay and hay barley silage, but because of a lot of things we aren't quite there yet... been hauling here and there, but not 16 hour days.... yet!!! So, I am taking advantage of my time right now and making some quilts.. so far this week, 2 quilts and a smaller wall hanging.. I'm having a blast!

I would love to learn how to do tatting, etc... I knit and embroider, but that is it for my hand stitching hobbies.

I am green

with envy. I can't do any of those things. I can embroider a bit,
but a quilt, NO WAY.

My mother could do all that stuff. Don't know what happened to me.
Oh yes I do; cows, horses, dogs, cats...no time for sewing and
crafts. I'm all thumbs anyway. But look at the money I saved by
not ruining things.

MTgirl did you use a rotary wheel to cut out the quilt pieces? Everything looks so strait and crisp and lined up exact. I learned about 10 years ago, that lil wheel is the only way to go when doin a quilt with strait edges or blocks. Oh and ironing between seams that helps too.

My grandmother made me a quilt and everytime I get under it I think of her. My other grandmother made afgans (sp?). The are both priceless.

Yes, using a rotary cutter is the only way to go when quilting! Without it, the cutting would have taken 3-4 times longer than the actual sewing and aplique at the top of the quilt! I don't know how they did it in the "olden" days with cutting and sewing everything by hand! My goodness, we are lucky today!

Your quilt is beautiful ty for sharing it. I've made a couple log cabin throws, I used to do counted cross stitch a lot, but my new passion is scrapbooking. It is adictive but goes well with my other passion photography. :)

MT girl, beautiful work,I admire anyone who can sew...greg teases me that I glue gunned my daughters sewing badge on when she was in brownies

That's so pretty! I love the colors, and the barn scene at the top!

One advantage of having only one kid is ya only have to worry about passing things on to one, instead of trying to figure out how to divide stuff....... Poor Al, though, is gonna inherit all of his ole mom's junk.....or is that "Junque"? :???:

Thank you everyone. :)

I took it over to show my grandma and she loved it..... the reason I know is because right away she said, "Ask me what I want for Christmas?!?!" I know what to get her this year, haha... actually a relief; she is hard to buy for!
