I thought this looked pretty cool.

The rodeo grounds-there were 1500 contestants-1,000's of horses and it seemed like a million golf carts buzzing around. It reminded me of an anthill most days.

NR:

Thanks for posting these and the photos from Arches. The first photo in this post is of the mountains just north of my folks place in Colorado! Sadly, you've seen my folks country more recently than I have. Mom and Dad kept up with Ty's progress at the rodeo and were cheering for him the whole time. I think they enjoyed having someone to follow, again.

I hope you enjoyed your trip through my homeland, despite the judging and secretary issues. Your trip over Red Mountain Pass is one I've taken a million times. It's quite the road, isn't it?

Cheers---

TTB

This is a longgggggg ways down-TTB I kind of wanted to drop in on your folks but our travelling partners weren't into anything but their own deal. I think timies march to a different drum then roughies do. The boys had a good time-they found friends from alot of different states-some of the rodeo queen variety lol. Next year we'll have our vehicle and my regulat crew and it will be alot more fun. There was some really nice country south of Duchesne, Utah-we overnighted at the rodeo grounds. Travel Tip #1 make sure you don't pitch your tent next to the underground sprinklers they go off at 1'00 A'M and scare the crap out of you.

Just looking at this picture makes my stomach drop!!

I recognized the Sleeping Ute mountain also. The long way down pictures remind me of the Colo National Monument. Were they in Utah? Your sprinkler story is funny.

TTB, I would NEVER drive that road!!!! I freely admit to being a wimp about heights. It makes me physically ill on a good four lane road, and those kind of roads would drive me over the edge.....literally and mentally!

The wildlife and the adventurous humans are welcome to that country, tho I do like looking at the photo's.......from a safe distance!
