I talked to a man from Ft. Pierre just a couple of days ago about heifers and bred cows. He has a lot of connections and could sure get you hooked up with some guys.

That would be great....i live in eastern south dakota and im looking for ranch type cows...Most east river people dont know what ranch type cows are, too much corn in our area...Id be most interested in short term cows and 575-600 heifer calves to breed...that would be a decent weight for heifer calves wouldnt it?...Dad says i needa start purchasing cows soo ya kinda scary for a young guy lol .

I live near Dodge City, KS now and grew up around McPherson, KS. Guys there didn't know what a cow was, let alone a ranch cow! Guys around here are a little more clued in, but I still feel like western South Dakota and western Nebraska have the best cows anywhere. I would go just a little bigger on those heifers if it were me, but you do what you like. If you want to, you can give me a call tomorrow @ (620) 345-8932.
