In 1975 it took ~20 butcher steers to buy a new 1105 Massey tractor like mine.
Today it would take around 50 butcher steers to pay for the equivalent.
That's why I say we need $2.00 for calves. We should be getting about $1.50 -$1.60 for a 1450# butcher steer. And it would still take 30 steers at the buck sixty level to buy the same tractor in 2WD, like mine.
So many things in this business just don't add up.
