Lane got his first buck this morning. we are hunting a creek that has a monster in it...drop tines and freaky stuff all over it, but he did not show this morning...so we settled for a nice little 4x4......

I have not seen the kid so excited as we took the 125 yard walk to where the buck laid...... from when he shot him, until we got to him, I listened to Lane talk....and I swear, it was the size of an elk by the story I was getting. but I guess to him, it is!

Good for the young man. He will remember that day for the rest of his life.

I am concerned about the location of the bloodspot. You haven't had Uncle Haymaker there teaching him the Texas Heartshot have you.

How far NORTH of the Republican did you say this crick was?

The boy is a better shot than he is a lawn mower driver!

Good for you, Lane!

No fair hunting with that rediculous hat he's got on. That deer probably couldn't run away because he was laughing so hard.....

Contratulations, Lane.

I was not very pleased with the placement either....I figured it would not be pretty....the deer was shot in the corn field and limped to the trees...

either way, it is dead, it is his first, and now I can focus on my own buck.....

remember Loomix...we have a 1/2 mile north of the Republican that is still Kansas here....

Congradulations to the young hunter!

He's to young to blame for his cap his dad probably made him wear it!
