A neighbor of mine gave me rights to hunt his place this year. Second Saturday of the season I took a nice doe for the freezer. After skinning her out, I entered the kill on the Wildlife Resources website and realized this was the first deer I'd taken since I met my wife....(nearly 7 years) Is that just a coincidence???

Seriously, glad to have some good venison in the freezer. Glad to be deer hunting again. Glad the good Lord blesses us with cool fall days, falling leaves and rutting bucks. Hope he sends a nice buck by my tree.

Congrats on the doe-we fill every flattop tag we can-it gets us permission on some good places to hunt. I eloped on the day before season opener 23 years ago-I thought I'd never forget my anniversary that way but they changed the season dates and I did lol.
