Dad was going through some old sales books. He found one where he shipped a load of calves to Iowa, 408lbs at 22cents/lbs.

56 calves brought $5123, just think you could buy a new pick up and have a couple grand left over.

I guess that means we are keeping up with inflation. If those calves could clear $800 today, they'd still buy a new pickup and leave some cash to put in the bank. And a much nicer pickup than what was even available in 1965.

I don't want anymore dually pickups. They are more expensive to buy; their mileage is less (two more tires for friction); and four tires are expensive enough without buying six. A four-wheeled pickup will take you anywhere a six-wheeled pickup can go. This is just my opinion, of course.

Levi 501's (what we wore then) was $5/pr.
Haven't worn Levi's for years, but I don't know what Wranglers cost
back then... :P

Well, don't shop for them at WalMart!! How they get away with their bull and esp their 'Blu Light Specials" is beyond me!

Here's what happened to me last wed:

I was minding my own business, perusing them big ol' color tv's--just killing time, actually. Had on tennis shoes, as town cement/tile floors kill me.

So--comes ablaring over the loudspeaker "Woman's panties half off in aisle Three!" lights a flashin all over the place!

Since i got lost there last time, I knew exactly where i was--only 5 aisles away. Got my 'jump higher and run faster" spring loaded loafers in action and stampeded over there---toot sweet!

Knowked over a couple carts fulla chinese junk, a really wide fat lady wearing a thong under some kinda transparent beach wrap (she was takin up the whole aisle--!) and a dwarf couple that i evidently (literally!) overlooked.

Anyhow--arrived on alleged scene---it was women's underwear, marked "50% OFF!"

it just dont seem right that they can get away with this---plus, i messed up my combover in the wreck---and just before we'd split up, i'd asked the mrs "does this look real?" You bet, she said---nobody'd pay $$ to buy something that looked like that....
