Football

Nebraska won't get a full paycheck from the Big 10 until 2017.

I think they actually got less money last year than they would have had they been in the Big 12.

The TV deal is screwing with the numbers.

Sometimes it's safer to be a big fish in a little pond.

big 10 football for years has been boring and uneventful.... a major yawn. aying you love the new fit is just the newness wearing out on you...in a few years, the buyers remorse will set in on the big10 and they will realize they got a piss poor buy...

Colorado never fit in the big 8 or 12...Mizzou was always wanting greener grass, A&M had a chip on it's shoulder with Texas, and NU did not like going from top of the heap to irrelevant, so they took thier toys to a new sandbox...
basing it on education and opportunity is like Hitler saying he was just "relocating" the Jews.... do I hate NU, hell yes, but it is a justified hate. husker fans will never understand how the rest of the big 12 hated them and why...not because you were Dominant...because you were NOT dominant, and cried because of it.... bunch of cry baby pricks, glad to see them gone...

Jigs you are one educated woman on college football. I always assumed you as male, but the more you rant and rave and bench and moan, i should have known you were female.

Good thing they won today or we would hear how it was the refs fault on the blown pass interference call. 6-0 just like last year, can they hold it together this year???

hey mike, did ya notice auburn lost again? :P\

14-0 to 8-5 to 1-5, thats a big hill to slide down.

You know I did. They suck big time. Don't ever remember an Auburn team this bad.

But life goes on.

They are going to have to pick it up. They keep playing these close games there's no room for error. One bad snap and the hopes of undefeted is going to go down the toilet. After West Virginia laid an egg today I would say they are going to have a tough game next week. Watched the second half of LSU South Carolina. LSU has a good defense, but man if they have to rely on their QB to win the game for them their in trouble. One more thought what happened to Texas today?

no, husker fans act like that. if KSU loses, I own up to it. you pussies are the one crying 4 years later about the extra second that never was...

not sure what crawled up your ash, but you are really showing your true husker colors with your shitty attitude, and douschebag antics.

typical husker. how did NU do with IDLE today?? hear that vegas was betting on IDLE to win...

Whoa, your the one always saying f**k the huskers and bo's douche bag, etc. So what the hell do you think your true colors are. Hell every time Kansas state wins you still have something real intelligent to say about nebraska.

bo IS a d-bag.... watch him. and I say Huck the Fuskers... a long traditional phrase used by teams who know thier fans...

NOW Jiggsy wants to talk about "tradition"? I have NEVER heard of any of the cars belonging to fans of opposing teams being vandalized in Lincoln. Sadly, that isn't the case when Husker fans would go to games in the People's Republik of Boulder or even that picturesque home of the MildCats, Manhattan, Kansas. Tires slashed, firebombed, scraped, scratched, graffiti'd, you name it. If your car had Nebraska plates, you knew it night happen. Those thugs were the "true' CU or KSU fans. Being bombarded with oranges in Boulder. When Nebraska played KSU for the last time, on National TV, and whipped their asses like we've done so many times over the years, the camera panned over to a small child in the stands, looked like a 1st or second grader, holding up a sign that said "I HATE NEBRASKA". You know he didn't come up with that all by himself. His old man was probably a "true KSU fan, even in the 80's". I'm sure some Nebraska plated cars payed the price that night, too.

One thing will remain eternal, like the sun rising and setting and the changing of the seasons....no matter how good (or bad) of a year the MildCats may be having, their fans can turn into foaming at the mouth, bed wetting, feeble minded, Haterade drinking imbeciles when the subject of Nebraska comes up. I guess that's what happens when you have never played for the National Title and have no clue what it's like to actually win it.....let alone several times....and not being able to realize that when you are on top, the only way to go is down.

Enjoy the year you are having, Jigs. They don't come around often and are a rarity. Snyder won't be around forever, and I'm sure there is another Ron Prince waiting in the wings to take over for him......then.....Whatcha gonna do, Brother, when the whole Big 12 runs wild on you?

where do you dilusional people get the rose colored glasses??? I know that stuff happens, and I know it happens at NU also... every team has asshole fans, and every team has vandals.... my neighbor, a KSU grad, big donor, and loyal Cat fan lives in Nebraska, went to the game and had her car keyed... but it happens in Lincoln also.... you keep this fantasy about how gracious and kind the husker nation is, you are screwed in the head, they are asses too... many many examples can be made...

keep talking your storied tradiotion and glory days...I remember KSU's past too, but revel in the fact that KSU is relevant now, and NU is not... keep old Bo, he sure has NU right where I like to see them!!! mid pack of the 4th best conference in the nation....but it was not about money or competativeness....

That situation will probably be reversed sooner than you would like to see.

Wanna go double or nothing on our bet? MildCats win next week, you don't owe me a dime. MildCats lose, I get my original hunsky from the last Nebraska-K State game, plus another hunsky, straight up.

You in?

Children calm down it's just a game. At the end of the day it is of no importance anyhow. Not being a sports junkie I sit and laugh at how childish grown men become over such things...

Well said. I concur. :-)

I also agree, but while saying that I am a sports junkie. I will turn on a game and watch it if its a good game no matter whos playing. I like a lot of teams, but am only a huge fan of the KC Chiefs. I sometimes find myself embarassed from how I act when I'm watching the game at home by myself. How sports does this is beyond me. My satilite radio is always on espn radio. I also stayed up until the we hours last night watching a baseball game in which I don't really like either team. I guess when you like sports as much as I do you always have a little get away from problems such as no rain. :D

Sports may be of no importance, but its fun, its something else to do besides worry about the weather, markets, etc. Hell nebraska didnt even play yesterday and i tuned in how dont know how many time to see some other games. South carolina-LSU game was a good one. I even tuned in the the kansas state game on radio, ya know just to see if they were getting beat.

And 3ml&c you arent the only one that gets wound up at home alone wacthing your favorite team, my wife thinks i am absolutey crazy at times. I also have espn radio on frequently in one pickup that has it, and listen to husker sports nightly every night mon thru friday.

I agree that we all get wound too tight over sports, but it is a welcome relief from the daily stress of profit and loss.... I pity the man who has no team to follow...what the hell does he do???

when your favorite team has an off week, it is a good time to see what others have to offer and what you need to worry about in the weeks to come....
