kwebb...

I was enjoying your pics in the photo gallery---they are great! The one with the little girl sure is cute!

So, what is the "heritage" of this cow??? What about her cute little calf?

Simbrah? I hope I didn't offend you with my guess or by asking. She's so interestingly marked, and also has some Brahman characteristics.

Cheers---

Thanks for looking at them as I can't figure how to post them.

This is a registered Beefmaster 3 year old with a bull calf about two days old. You are right about the Brahma...with a little Hereford and Shorthorn thrown in.

He is now really darkened up black and lost some of that brown color he had back then. Paint bulls like these bring pretty good money along the border with Mexico for some reason, so he might be headed south here in a few months.

Thanks kwebb!

I was wondering about Herf (the freckles in her white clued me in) and Shorty...but couldn't fathom a Shorty, Brahman cross!!! My reason for the Simbrah was that she could have traced back to some Fleckvieh or older Simm. bloodlines that were still Simm marked--you know the loud red and blonde cattle with quite a bit of white!!!

Thanks for the explaination!!!

By the way, on your pics....all you need to do to get them posted in a post is to left click on the UBB Code (under the pic,) then right click, choose copy, then left click where you'd like it in a post, right click and paste, and should be there!!!

Cheers---

That's a pretty good looking cow no matter what colour she is. Were starting to get some Brahma cross cows from our rodeo cattle-they are pretty good cattle even if they do buck lol.
