For Ranch Wives Everywhere

I don't have any trouble with the hand signal part with hubby, as we both use the same ones. Son on the other hand likes to be more creative, so I am doing the charades thing, guessing what he is meaning........
Hubby winds tight when working cattle, moreso now than when he was younger, whereas I wound tight at a younger age, and now am more laid back about it all. I find it pretty funny watching him now, as do my kids, whom he still instructs as if they were little guys. We've managed to work together for nearly twenty five years, so I guess we balance one another nicely.

All true, and funny :) Hubby and I work amazing well together...most of the timeLOL. Really do though, I know I am very lucky! When we shipped the calves (at the nieghbors) 3 steers that were cut off accidently got put in with the hiefers. We didn't think anything of it, got them out and all was well. Later the brand inspector said "boy, your husband is really even tempered, alot of guys would've had a fit about that". :D

Hope your nose gets better Hanta, that had to hurt!

And I'm the one with the temper in our relationship.... Usually because he doesn't listen to what I say  . But usually we get along fairly well. I'm the one that does all the bookwork, and so when he wants to know something about a cow it is handy if I am still there.....and I have been known to storm off. Preferably when he has no one else there to help him out

About 5 years ago I was helping my Dad and his brother. NOTE: They are experts..if you don't believe that, just...ask'em!!

Anyhoo....I was to back a goose trailer into a itty bitty hallway in the barn. OK...no biggie done it lots of times. Leave me alone and let me do it!!

As I was slowly backing back , I had my Dad on one side and Uncle on the other. I wasn't really watching them cause I was concentrating on my work. But I did notice that each one of them was pointing in a different direction for me to follow!! Then when the yelling and screaming started" go right, no left, pull up, no come on back NOW", I just stopped the truck...got out gave each a nasty look and ' left the building' and left them to it!!!

Cost them about $300 to replace the fender skirts on the trailer!!!

Priceless!!!
