This morning on Fox News they were reporting on a soldier at Walter Reed Medical Center that has receive only one letter. It was from a young student that wrote; die soldier die. Fox was encouraging anyone that wanted to, to send him a card or letter. The address is: Joshua Sparling, Walter Reed Army Medical Center, 6900 Georgia Ave. NW, Washington, DC 20307-5001 I do hope there are some at Ranchers.net that write him. When I wrote him this morning I failed to say my occupation. I think it would be neat if he received many cards showing the rancher/farmer kindness. Thanks

A student wrote "die soldier die" in a letter to this man? That student should be hung from the highest tree!

I bet if this was on FOX news that this young man will receive more cards and letters than he can read in a month :D

I wonder how is the hospital ever going to handle the ton of mail sure to come in?
I'll send one but will address it to him "or any other soldier that would like mail". There are probably many in the same boat.

Thjere is a site set up for people to send items and letters to the soliders overseas

Its very sad reading some of the things theses kids are asking for.
YES they are kids overthere. Some have never recieved any mail from home and thier OIC has submitted their company and is acting like the point person.
All you have to do is click on where to send and you have so many to choose from. Even if all you do is send a letter it will brighten a moment for one who is standing in harms way. Below is from one of the soliders.
WARNING its is VERY addictive.

I am an ammunition specialist, but working as a RTO. We Monitor the radio for anything serious that happens. I work 12-14hrs, 7 days a week. I get very tired, but it could be a lot worse. I am thankful I work with a good NCO. I brief the COL everyday. The PX is nice, but always runs out of things, very fast. Are living conditions are not too bad. There is not a lot of privacy, but we work through it. It's going to be hard being away from family through the holidays. This is my first year being away from them during X-mas. I have had my 20th B-day and will probably have my 21st here also. Thats about all I have to say. I want to thank you people for doing this for the soldiers. It really helps and brings a smile to there face when they receive a package. Thank you

Thanks MsSage for posting the link. I went to it and will have to revisit it tomorrow. Yep nr, I hope he gets lots of letters and I'm sure he will share them with others. The war really hit home today when I heard there were 2 soldiers killed from SE South Dakota. We must show our support to our troops!!!!

Just heard an interview on FOX with Joshua. He said he has received tons of mail which he is also sharing with other soldiers. He said the nasty card was hanging on his bed when he had arrived at the hospital. Someone was sleeping when they hung that up. He thanked everyone for sending cards and said the support of the American people made fighting for our safety worthwhile. Thanks to all who sent cards.
