We decided to be tourists and ride the helicopter.

Sylvan Lake

Harney Peak is the highest natural point in South Dakota and the Black Hills. It lies in the Black Elk Wilderness area, in southern Pennington County, in the Black Hills National Forest. The peak lies 3.7 mi WSW of Mount Rushmore. At 7,242 feet, it has been described by the Board on Geographical Names as the highest summit in the United States east of the Rocky Mountains.

The H's have been doing some serious talking about a trip back to Mt. Rushmore and the Black Hills with a swing back through Nebraska to the spearhead, and the Big Muddy Valley in Canada to see BMR, and South Dakota to see the FH bunch and into WYO to see Jody on the way home. That is some neat country and I bet the helicopter ride gave you the best view in the house. Thanks for packing you camera and allowing us to see the sights.

Been to MT. Rushmore once. Ive seen many pictures of it but none do it justice.

We did take a helicopter ride over the South Dakota Badlands back in May. It was a scenic trip, but we didn't notice any cow/calf pairs in there at the time. Hope you find yours.
