Funny true story (but totally politically incorrect)

A friend here told us last night that her friend was at work when her Downs Syndrome son called her and said he'd caught a gnome. She couldn't think what word her son meant and kept asking him to repeat what he'd found while trying to think of what word he could be trying to say. He became more and more upset that she didn't understand or believe he'd caught a gnome. In exasperation she told him gnomes were an imaginary being, that he was using the wrong word and to just feed it something (she was thinking it might be a tiny animal) and that she'd be home soon. He called again 15 min. later very upset and said he'd tried to feed it M&Ms and Twix but it wouldn't eat them. So she said she'd come home. She apologized to her co-workers and said she'd have to go home early to check what he was into.

He met her at the door. He's a very tall boy, a good kid and tries hard. He said the gnome wouldn't eat the candy. He took his mom by the hand into the house and unlocked a closet. There in the closet was a dwarf with a sash across his chest stating he was a US Census Taker. He yelled at her, "I'm going to sue you!" Apparently her son had just picked him up bodily and locked him up!

He says hi back and hopes you're enjoying good wet weather. And our best to Peaches. I'm still sorry we didn't see her when she was east and was thinking about her traipsing around with her relatives last time we went to D.C.

She would sure liked to have seen you, but it was hard having time to make everything happen. She and her two sisters, and their mother and her sister, all did have a wonderful time exploring the historical sights of the Washington, D.C. area at the time.

I googled "snopes, dwarf, census" and they said the story about the dwarf census taker being locked in a closet (which I heard from a friend told as a true story) was actually a legend circulating as least since Feb.
