She'll be wanting to go to Ponoka next summer. :D

if you asked her tomorrow if she thought she was ready I doubt she would hesitate with her answer, she's got alot of try. We broke the tongue on the sleigh shortly after this, so we're back to a boring old tractor for the next few days

That was good, the little gal did well. What is the story on the broken tongue?

I wasn't much larger than that when I started driving the neighbor's runaways while he was feeding. One day I turned the team into a gate a little to quick, broke the gatepost off and away they went. The hayrack stayed balanced on top of the fence, I went over the front of the rack off to one side and was dumb enough to try and stop them. Luckily the lines jerked out of my hands before I got near the sleigh bunks. The team circled the feedground and came back to the gate.
After a few choice words about kids and outlaw teams the neighbor made me tie them up while we unloaded the hay off the rack and then get them lined up to put the rack back on the bunks. After the hay was reloaded, he said, " Well Davey, you can replace that post in the spring. Take er' away"
A couple of wood panels guarded the gate until the spring thaw allowed a 10 year old boy learn that being a little more careful creates a lot less work. :D

gcreek... no real story on the tongue other than breaking a trail in deep crusty snow, a sled that hasn't been used for prob. 20 years, and a big 'ole mare stepping on it, just a bad combination all the way round. I do like your story though. Taylor barely saved herself yesterday, she wasn't driving but she likes to stand by Art and "help" vocally, well they didn't stop quite as quick as she thought they should and she she let out a "whoa you son's a bi....guns!" I told her she got lucky 'cause she was pretty close to a date with the soap bar!

floyd...thanks, but the less response she has from them the better, she's have them in road gear if we let her!
