Back to grain vs. grass, I think it's high time grass fed beef get it's due. It could be the salvation of all of us producers if things go right and we live long enough.
As far as the taste goes, I allways figured you could throw that grain fattened crap to the dog's, if they would eat it. White tastless fat, who wants it? :???:
I'll just be happy to see a market develop that would take my beef from the pasture straight to the plate, seems as though it would sure cut out a lot of middlemen.

Even though it's "healthiness" would probably cut the "middle" out of a lot of men :wink: , I don't think it is an idea that will ever catch on big time. Nothing beats the taste of good old Nebraska Cornfed Beef.

Yeah, your probably right Soapweed. Why when you think about it, it's really about as crazy, as thinking people would pay good money for bottled water! :shock:

:???: I must be missing something because we butchered a critter off of grass and it was disgusting. Nice and fat butcher weight. Tasted wild or something. To me there is nothing like cornfed beef. Yummy!

Ummm... that was the flavour. Kinda like farm eggs, I think, might not be quite what you expect, but once youve had a few you don't want those factory eggs anymore.
