Well we gathered our river BLM permit on tuesday and I took pictures as usual :) So here we go.

As we got to the gate into the permit we could see these girls WAY up top

That's one reason why we use cowdogs! Cotton is bringing her down.

It was a beautiful day for a ride, the cows are looking pretty good, and we got the chores done before dark. It was a good day :)

Nice pics NIcky. I really enjoyed them.
The only thing better would be getting to watch firsthand.

I saw on the radar that you had some clouds a day or two ago..............................of course I am sure they didn't open up.

I am hoping for rain...........but you need it worse. Hope you get it soon.
Say are those blacks in there ...........kinda like they put tracers in ammo

Beautiful pictures Nicky my what scenery. Cows look like they enjoyed themselves as well. How many miles did you have to round the cows up?

Oregon is one of the few states I have never been to. Judging from your pics we definitely need to add that to our travel list.

Why, when you are dry and begging for meaningful rain, a 70% chance yeild 30 drops, and when you are wet and trying to put up hay a 10% chance will yeild an inch or better?? :? :? Good pictures--A good dog is priceless in the mountain country. Looks like your Cotton dog is one of those.

That's a very good question Shortgrass, and how very true. Cotton is really going to be a super dog. He is very good now and he is only a year and a half. He is Mike's dog, and I have never seen so attached to a dog before.

It's about 3 miles from here to the permit. I suppose the permit is about 4 or 5 miles long (if you happened to get to go in straight line LOL). Of course we had to ride quite abit of the ups and downs too. And then we had to ride back home. We left about 10:00 and got home by 5:00.

The black ones are markers

Good pics as always Nicky! It sure looks like you need rain when the red of the cows stands out so it almost looks like you have done the black and white with touches of color thing. Hopefully it'll come in buckets!

We got some decent rain last night..At least the dust is settled. I looked out this morning and actually thought of you guys, hoping it didn't skirt to the North of you...

Oregon is one of the most Varied states you will see....Forests, Coast, the Rainy Willamette Valley, Hells Canyon, Columbia River Gorge and High Desert Country..It is a Pleasure and priveledge that I get to travel it,

People oft en enter from the East and expect to see the Timber...It doesn't show up for awhile,

Nope, only got the 30 drops...then it got sunny and nice. Oh well, if you've got to be in a drought, might as well enjoy the sunshine :)

:) Love your pics Nicky,I must my dial-up took 40 minutes to download these, its almost painful waiting :D Theres NOTHING nicer then a herd of herfs, mix them with your landscape....priceless

Give Caleb a hug for me next time you see him. :

Sorry it takes so long to download :? Darn dialup...we have it too but do have the 'turbo accelerator' and it does help. I will be sure to hug Caleb for you.
