Ran across Glen and Thelma Anderson of Glenrock today at City park. They were here to attend a Grandon family reunion.
I was asked by Yvonne Hollenbeck to come and give a little area history.

Thelma gave me her book, Rock Creek, Played guitar a little with Glen.

Found that we have relatives in common. Emma Cave (Mrs. John Cave) was dad's cousin though they had never met. Caves lived in the area and she remembered going to the Cave place. Emma's father was a Grandon.

We think that Margaret Grandon, my grandmother's sister, may have been buried in the area.

Martin, I think that might be Thelma Poirier (nee) Anderson from Glentworth.

They are a old ranching family. A older brother of hers worked on this ranch in the late 30's early 40's and another brother bought the ranch next to us about 1990.
I've known Thelma for a while, she was the main push behind the Wood Mountain poetry gathering. I might even see them this week in Moose Jaw at the stock growers convention. :D

I just finished the book "Rock Creek" by Thelma Poirier.
It gives a detailed view of a trip along Rock Creek without the mosquitoes, etc. A little history too. Quite interesting.

I had a visit with Thelma last night at the SSGA stock growers banquet.
She thought it was neat that I knew you from ranchers.
She donated a quilt with the SSGA logo and the brands of all the past Presidents and it sold for $5,000. :D
