Just back from 2:00 a.m. check.

It is 6 above 0. I thought it felt awfully cold :(

Glad no cows are calving right now.

Good bye lilacs, honeysuckle and everything else that has started to leaf out.

What the heck is this "global warming"????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Good by tomatoes, corn, peaches , etc. here too Hanta. Global warming indeed. It's going to get down around 20 here tonight and I have bermuda already greening up and see some orchard grass and fescue starting to joint around the cow piles. It's a first for me.

A lovely 13 degrees here.... We have used our barn more this year than prolly the last three years combined... A quarter done with one week calving...... We are wore out glad kids are home to help...
NR, I'm impressed with the really windy calves that we have on the ground.... Hell bent, here we gooooooo!!!! :D :D :D

Happy Easter Everyone..........
Remember Christ was crusified and died on the cross so we can have salvation.......

Single digits here this morning too, as it has been for the last couple. Last week during the storm, my cows pretty well stopped calving. Had several when it was pretty nice over the weekend and then they slowed to a crawl this week while it was so frigid. It's sunny and pushing 30 right now and I have one calving. If they really pick up the pace and finish up in fair weather, I'll be a happy camper. And BTW, I don't even feed vigortone mineral

I'm sure glad I have some extra hay- because these 12 degree 5 Below chill factor lows and 35 Above high days aren't doing much for getting grass growing...A few local guys that are out of hay are turning out on pasture- but after last summers dry spell those ol cows are going to have some slim pickings.....

Today wouldn't be so bad with the sun shining if that 15-25 mph wind would just go down...Cuts right thru you.....

Record lows I understand....I doubt if Gore is smart enough to feel like an idiot. We need to feed our cows something to make them belch and fart even more to get things warmed up a bit.

Katrina you'll like those Windy's when they grow up to be momma cows. If you have any EXT's he works great on them sucks the evil right out of them. My nephew is calving a set of heifer bred to him and things are going good there too. I think I installed 7-800 units of him up here last summer.

NR. We've gotten alot of hiefiers, like two to one... The closest thing to EXT we have is that Matrix bull... And so far with him, all hiefiers.... Mammas are really popping back into shape.. It's been one good thing out of all the backwards calves and cold weather........
