Hello family in Ranchers.net,

I'm back from Reno, and I put up the display for OUR TROOPS. I want to thank all of you from Ranchers.net who sent me pictures. As you can see, I filled the board up. We also put the board in the same room as registration for ANCW, NCBA, etc, and silent auction for ANCW. Since I have the feeling that most of us support our troops, I'll post it here in Coffee Shop. If this ends up being controversial I'll move it to Political Bull. I took pics this way and that, guess I need to brush up on taking pics...I have one decent one of the board, a couple to give you an idea of the traffic that went through the room. I put my laptop on the table in the middle (seen in the pic) with a video of IRAQ, which told the story HOW IT IS and worked for me because it played in a loop so I could go to my meetings and not worry about. I had another cd and was trying to figure a way to make it loop without success. While I was trying to figure it out, a guy came up to me and said, "Ma'am, thank you so very very much for exhibiting this display. It means so very much to me". This was enough reason for doing what I did.

Here's a picture of the display; it's a little blurry but I'm sure those of you who sent me pics will recognize them :-)

There were people who were responsible for the silent auction items at all times, I asked them to keep an eye on my laptop 8) and let me know how many people looked at the display. They said I wouldn't believe how many people were there looking at it. I took some pics (however blurry) of a guy looking at it. I really apologize for my awful picture-taking. It was hard to take them because I was causing people to stop so they wouldn't mess up my pics  and I felt bad I was in their way...

This gives you an idea of the placement of the display in the room. The next day, the room was packed off and on all day and NO WAY could I take a pic of the display without people getting in the way. I had meetings of my own and everyone was going hither and thither so I grabbed pics when I could.

Reno at its best...I played the penny machines...first time with electronics since the "one armed bandits", ended up making about $27.50, the penny machines are cheap and kept me occupied for a looooong time! Cheap entertainment!!!!

I greatly apologize for the bad pics. For ice cream social for ANCW, they had my display in the room, and had a wonderful, tear-jerking tribute to our troops and to our flag. I was soooooo happy!!!!

Thanks, Hanta Yo, for making up such a nice display. Now is always the time for all good men (and women) to come to the aid of their country. You helped do your part by promoting patriotism at the cattle convention. Thanks from all of us.

Thankyou Hanta Yo. You had a wonderful idea and stuck with it!!! We need more people like you in this world. As I'm writing this I hear the Star Spangled Banner singing on the Superior Auction on TV. Gave me goose bumps.

THANK YOU SO MUCH MOM!!!!!!!!!!! Im happy to hear that you could show so many people!!! I showed some of my comrades what you had done and they all wanted me to thank you also!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

just goes to show how much you and the rest of our troops mean to all of us....especially Hanta Yo!!!!

and his daddy. Semper fi my man, sure wish you were here to help fight fires, but I am very thankful that you are fighting what you are, makes these fires look like kids play compared to what you guys do, and I know it is alot hotter there than here even on the fire lines.

Good job Hanta!!! Looks great, I'm sure everyone enjoyed it. I'll have to tell Caleb to check it out so he can see his picture.

Just to bring this back up, I have a friend who is an Army Special Ops, our son, Caleb, Nicky's nephew, and a whole bunch that are ranch raised, men who know the reason, know how to git er done, and will git er done. People from the cities don't know how much Ag contributes not only with the food we raise, the local and global contributions we make, and the sacrifices that our sons and daughters make because they know how to make a difference in the outcome of things. They are raised to make a difference because they are raised to take charge of things when they have to, not rely on someone to hold their hand and take them down the yellow brick road.

hey, I wish I could be there helping too, its scary that things like that can happen and there's nothing I can do. But I get to go home in about 23 days! :D Boy do I miss my family!!!

sw's man since you are here, thanks for all you have done. We all will be indebted to you and your fellow soldiers. And also thanks to your family, all your contributions will always be remembered. Take care.
