The April-May issue. Page 42 entitled "Toss the Cost, Brace for Loss--
Why it may be a lousy idea to cheap out on your mineral program" by
Gilda V. Bryant; photos by David Stoecklein Photography.

I was hoping the magazine had a website with the current issues, but
they don't. All I could find was a facebook page...

It was a good article and I'm sure many here get Working Ranch magazine.
FWIW

I didn't get a chance to read the article but with all the mineral talk there seems to be one point that was never brought up but very important imo. Alot of guys claim to be on a good mineral program and most probably are but to me it does absolutely no good if you're not diligent about keeping the product in front of cows. I have a few neighbors that run about the same amount of cows as myself that routinely go through a half to a third as much mineral in a year as I do. These cattle are run in basically the same conditions but somehow magically don't use much mineral compared to myself. I cant help but think that some people that have problems aren't very good at keeping mineral in front of cows. Just my 2 cents.

:agree:
Mineral doesn't do the cows much good if it is setting in the barn.
Folks that do as you stated are really wasting their money. Maybe
a little mineral does some good, but would that same guy give only
part of a vaccine and expect it to work? :?
