I heard this morning on the radio that they are giving away the pickup you have the winning key to on Friday. You're going aren't you? 1 in 57 odds are pretty good if you ask me.

Lets all think positive for him. He can put a few miles on driving around north america to give all a ride in his truck he going to win. :D

Thanks for the encouragement. I plan to go for the gold. :-) The drawing was originally set for January 7th, to be done at the Dakota Farm Fest in Vermillion. When the weather went kapooie, they rescheduled it for this coming Friday.

My luck fell apart today when I inadvertantly put unleaded gas in a diesel pickup. This is the third time in the last ten years that I've pulled this trick.   Fortunately it was figured it out before driving away from the gas pump, so I switched to the other tank. Borrowing a 12-volt pump, it was easy but time-consuming to pump the tank dry. The 6 gallons of gas mixed with the 12 gallons of diesel will be added to the bulk tank at the ranch, making the percentage of gas quite small. Anyway it is nice to get bad luck out of the way before drawing for the pickup. :-)

It probably would have sent sparks flying in Sparky's shop.

LMAO! Good luck!

I'm always afraid the kids will screw up and pull that stunt, but more than likely I'll be the first one to do it. Shake it off Soap, everyone can make a mistake..........or three.

Here's a little reminder trick (iffin the green handle is not doing the trick):

Diesel is more expensive than gas. If it seems too cheap it must be the wrong fuel.

Our local gas station doesn't have a green handle on the diesel. I have both gas and diesel pickups, so once in a while I'm day-dreaming and forget which outfit I'm driving. :? :(

Many of have been there. I did the same one day coming home from the city I didn't have enough fuel to make it home so stopped and splashed a little in. I continued on my way for 3 miles or so. The truck doesn't continue to run on gas. The bright side is it didn't do much damage other than burn up the glow pugs while trying to get it started after the purge. I found out later that my dad had done the same with it when he was holidaying pulling a trailer. He was smart enough not to drive it away though, my daydream continued to live on past the pumps. :???: :?

Do we all get a ride in your new truck :D :D
How many miles do you figure it would take to come and visit us all to give us a ride? :???: The project could eat up a few months as well. Bring Peach along for the ride. :-) We could help make a free truck pretty expensive.

Soap, at least you caught your  before any harm was done. And maybe by posting about your experience you've helped someone else avoid the same fate. You're a good man to own up to your "senior moment" on this internet thing! :P
