My comments are seldom directed toward a select group, but today they are. I enjoy working with youth, and have prayed and talked with several youth about career choices. Our society is applauding the tremendous stride that women have made in the workplace. Women can now do about anything they want to, and be accepted as equally capable as men. Many special respects have been forfeited in the process. If a high school girl has no desire for a career, and wants nothing more than to orchestrate a functional home, she is made to feel as though that is unacceptable, and she really needs to get her act together. After all a woman needs to do something to gain some "real" respect. You know, like a lawyer or politician, like a truck driver or forklift operator. Janet Reno has risen to the top in her line of work, as has Nancy Pelosi. Who do you respect the most, Nancy Pelosi, Janet Reno, or your mother? If a young girl simply wants to marry and raise a family, she ought to be encouraged and applauded! I certainly am fully supportive of her. She has chosen the best life has to offer. The world may say you need a career, but God says that the older women need to teach the younger to be keepers of the home. No, it is not wrong for a woman to work outside the home, but our society is way out of line on this issue. There is no higher calling in life than to be a wife and mother. God has not given that opportunity to men; have a good Sunday mornin', and a very special Mothers Day!
