The old sun sure got hot today. I'm ready for Summer to give way to Fall. I am like many others as I enjoy the Fall season more than the others. Fall will soon give way to Winter. The Lord asked Job if he could "bind Pleiades or loose the belt of Orion." Those are two constellations that appear brightest in the winter in the northern hemisphere. They mark the changing of the season. He is in effect asking Job if he can prevent the changing of the seasons. The obvious answer is that none of us can stop the changes that come with time. He also tells us to learn from the ant who gathers food in season. He admonishes us to be instant in season and out of season. We need to be about our Fathers work. It is the time to do that. Yet I suspect that many of you are just like me. I find myself too busy. Too busy to serve God? Too busy to tell someone what he has done for me when He was not too busy to come to earth to die for me? Too busy running here and there to lend a helping hand when He has told me that "in as much as you have helped the least of these, my brethren, you have helped Me? I get too busy to take time to read and pray. Maybe I am just too busy getting nowhere to really get somewhere of lasting value. Maybe I need to stop and evaluate my priorities. Think I'll do just that! Today is the day (season) of salvation. We best not let it slip by. Well, you folks have yourselves a good Sunday mornin', and a fine rest of the week too.

Thanks, Shortgrass, for a very nice meaningful message. You kind of jumped the gun by a day though, or I am confused. You haven't changed to a Seventh Day Adventist by any chance? :wink: :-)

Have yourself a good Saturday, Sunday, and a great rest of the week, too. Thank you for always giving us fine spiritual food for thought.

Nope, I am not Seventh Day Adventist, I'm just going to go to bed, and sometimes I aint very punctual on Sunday Mornings. Next week we are going to go to Wisconsin to see our Daughter. Don't know if we'll go through the sandhills or not. Probably one way or the tother, as we will be gone two weeks.

Soap--maybe you and I missed a day....SHHEEESSSHHH- I was supposed to help a fella haul cows on Saturday--today-or tomorrow or whatever :shock: :wink: :lol: :P :lol:

Stop by if you are coming through. Would like to see you again after all these years. Have a good trip to Wisconsin.

(I am still confused. Today is only Friday. You could put up the message tomorrow and still sleep in on Sunday.) :wink: :-)

Hope he doesn't have them all hauled by the time you get there. The cows may have been locked up in the corral all day today, waiting for you and your trailer. Happy haulin'. :-)

I am looking forward to helping-- supposed to be nice tomorrow (Saturday, I hope :wink: ) and I'm going stir crazy...I spent the day around the house taking care of the 6 year old grandson-Gabe--as his mom was working-- and he hurt his leg on the trampoline last Friday and still can't walk on it...They think he dislocated his hip-and it went right back in- but tore some muscle and stuff and caused a lot of blood in the joint....Now leg is really stiff and sore... Hope he heals up fast cause Grandpa can't take it :roll:

Our prayers go out to Gabe. Hope he heals up fast and without any complications. One thing about it, he has "youth" on his side. Youngsters tend to heal up pretty fast compared to us more "mature" citizens. At least if you are hauling cattle, maybe Gabe can ride with you in the pickup. Have a fun day.

I said something about tomorrow being Sunday, and Mrs. Shortgrass got me straightened out. No sleepin' in tomorrow. No brains - no headaches they say. Good Friday nite folks :oops: :oops: :oops:

Well I'm glad you guys got it figured out what day it is! I was starting to think I was the only one who had problems keeping track! :oops: :twisted: :D :lol:

I'll let you in on a little secret I use. Just come to this site and check the time/date stamp! Then you will know what day it is! :oops: :D :wink:

Shortgrass, thank you for the right message, even if you did have the wrong day! I have to remember our church schedule has changed to 7PM this evening (Saturday) this weekend onlybecause of the big homecoming wingding in town.

Now I gotta get going to another fall shot job. Seems Saturday is a popular day for working cattle around here. Guys can get kids home from school to help and/or wives that teach/drive school bus are free on the weekends to cook dinner! :shock: :D :lol:

Thanks for the wise words of inspiration, shorgrass!!!.......even if it was a day early :wink: :wink: :wink: :wink: They are ALWAYS welcome and a breath of fresh air!! :D :D

Great message anytime of the week Shortgrass! Thanks for sharing!

Have a great and safe trip to the land of the Cheesehead! Be sure to have some cheese curds while you're there....yummy!!!

Wisconsin is a beautiful state. I've only been there for work, and I'd really like to go back when we'd have some time to look around. I don't know if you drink beer but Leinenkugel beer is brewed in Wisconsin, and I think it'd be fun to stop at their brewery.

Cheers---

TTB :wink:

Great message.

Got me thinkin about takin time to get right with the Lord

Lost a whole lot of friends and family this year, different ailments. Makes me hope they took the time.

Don't think you can ever go wrong helping the neighbors.

You have a good Sunday mornin yourself.

Thanks for the wonderful and thoughtful message, Shortgrass. You have a Sunday mornin' and a wonderful vacation!

You get to go on vacation! :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Good Sunday Mornin just aint quite the same when it was posted on Friday night. I guess there is a right way to do things, and when things are done right they just work better. Oh well, maybe I can learn from my mistakes--we'll see.

SHortgrass,

Right for who? When I was an elder in our church, we'd give communion and Stewardship meditations...12 Elders rotated and these were given weekly...Sometimes, I'd give one that really didn't fit my "Style" and wonder where that came from and why...Then, later, someone would let me know it personally meant a lot to them...It seems when that happened that was the only person complimenting my message other than my wife and pastor. Sometimes not even them, LOL...

So, maybe it was a Friday for a reason...Some good things have happend on Fridays,

;-}

PPRM

BTW, I'd look at the other elders and refer to myself as more of a younger than an elder,

;-}
