Good Sunday Mornin' to ya. With this Cancer ordeal we have experienced, the last 2 ½ months have been pretty hard at our household. Not just a few tears have been shed between the two of us. Not so much tears of sorrow, although they have been there, but much more common are tears of joy. The joy we experience when we received a call from a concerned friend or family member, or, perhaps, an encouraging word from a neighbor. Jan has about 90 cards from folks that took time to stop & say "I care, I'm praying." The number of meals that ladies from the church and community have prepared and delivered is phenomenal! We haven't cooked anything but breakfast for a month, and have we ever eaten (my culinary abilities are very limited)! We have shed tears of joy because it has been our privilege to see Jesus with skin on. He looks like our friends and neighbors—our brothers and sisters in the Lord that have taken time to think of us and pray for us. We are forever grateful to them for showing us the love of our Lord in action. If you ever feel that you don't really know what to say to someone in a rough situation, what ever kind of trial it is, just say something-anything. Let them know you care. You can be Jesus with skin on! Have yourselves a good Sunday mornin, and a good rest of the week too.

I'm not to up on my bible verses but I do know you reap what you sow.

Looks to me you have sowed a great deal of friendship and compassion amongst your friends and family.

You have been a very good friend and leader on ranchers, I look for "A Good Sunday Morning" every Saturday night. :-)

Take care and I know God has blessed you.

Michael

Shortgrass, you and Jan are wonderful testimonies to the love of Jesus. I very much look forward to your words of wisdom each week. It was certainly a privilege for Peach Blossom and me to get to know you both "live and in person" last fall. It was wonderful having you and Goose keep my new mule and me out of trouble on the Old West Days trail ride, while the ladies came home and enjoyed the afternoon visiting and getting to know each other. It was a blessing having you and Jan attend church in town with us later that evening. We look forward to more of these get-togethers once Jan has been healed of her affliction.

Our prayers continue to be with you both.

Shortgrass, my continued prayers included for you and Jan for strength and healing. Your "Jesus with skin on" friends and neighbors are a fine example of faith in action.

Like BMR, if I don't get around to checking this site all week I always check in to look for your weekly insight. Thank you for being "Jesus with skin on" to us here at ranchers each week.

I too, greatly look forward to and enjoy your weekly messages, Shortgrass. We just buried my 52 year old neighboring rancher who died unexpectedly of a heart attack and I have a 54 yr. old cousin with incurable brain cancer so I am learning just how much each day we have in this life is a wonderful gift from our Creator and that we should rejoice and be thankful for them.

Still reading every Sunday Morning up here too Shortgrass. I especially like the Jesus with Skin analogy.

All the best to you and Momma this Sunday Morning and every Sunday morning.

Thanks for the message Shortgrass, may God bless and keep you both through these trials.

John 15,5

"I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing."
